My Special Subject Is (As Always) the Bleedin' Obvious

The more Barr & The Repubs drag their heels when it comes to releasing the Mueller report, the guiltier Trump looks.

The longer Barr & The Repubs seek to delay the release of that report to both Congress and to the public, the stronger the case that much is being deliberately hidden – and what is being hidden is as negative about Trump as it is explosive.

The more Barr & The Repubs engage in evasive measures to withhold the truth, the more obvious it becomes that the truth is something that Trump’s ass-kissers need to keep away from public and congressional scrutiny.

The more Barr & The Repubs insist that there’s no there there, the more apparent it becomes that there’s a whole shitload of there that the GOP doesn’t want anyone to see.

A party that knows their “pResident” has been exonerated of all wrongdoing doesn’t do everything in its power to keep that so-called ‘exoneration’ under wraps – just like the party that knows their “pResident” is as guilty as sin does everything it can to ensure that evidence of his wrongdoing never sees the light of day.

The longer this goes on, the more Barr & The Repubs throw up obstacles to the truth being exposed, the greater their efforts to keep the American people from having access to the Mueller report and its findings, the more sceptical of their motives the nation becomes.

We’re well into The Bleedin’ Obvious category, folks – and it’s becoming more bleedin’ obvious every day. There is apparently so much more to hide than was previously known, or even suspected – and Barr & The Repubs are determined to bury the facts.

What we have seen – the repeated lies, the constant cover-ups, the blatant disregard for the nation’s well-being and that of its citizens, the grovelling before our enemies – is sickening enough.

The question now is: How much worse will the truth prove to be?

I fear that the answer will prove to be so horrifying that it'll blow everything to kingdom come.

And there's only one way to find out.

Release the Mueller Report. NOW.

He ignores the law blatantly, practically putting his thumb to his nose and wiggling his fingers in our face with such glee that you know he doesn’t give a shit whether we know or not. So yeah, it makes you wonder how bad it is when he does everything in his power to keep it from us.

It must be depraved even to him. That’s really saying something.

And others, too: in the FBI, in DoJ, the IRS, the State Department, the intelligence agencies, the military, the White House, throughout the civil service (the latest Trump ploy is to dismantle the Office of Personnel Management, which would destroy the merit-based, nonpartisan foundation of the civil service and create utter chaos in the federal agencies - which is of course what they want). Anyone who cares about the future of this country. And dare I dream that at least a few Republican senators can finally put democracy and country and honor over party and step up to the plate? (Improbable, I know, but I can dream).

(For those who don't know the title's reference. Missing punchline after that excerpt: "Perhaps it would be best if we had him put to S-L-E-E-P". "Who, him or the rat?"

At first the likes of MSNBC commentators opined that the point of the delay was to let Barr frame the Report as no biggie, Trump is innocent, and then let that sink in and take root before anyone saw the real report. But it's turning out to be (As Always) much more malevolent than that.

As is always the case, Trump projects onto his adversaries his own most negative qualities. So now he, the man of treasonous intent with the Russians, is saying those who were required to investigate his intent, are guilty of Treason. Now, instead of Congress and the Public being focused on the findings of an exhaustive two year probe about Russian efforts to undermine our democracy, we are being steered toward the need to launch an exhaustive investigation as to whether U.S. intelligence "spied" on a presidential candidate. Now, rather than sifting through evidence of how Donald Trump attempted to undermine the rule of law in America, our Attorney General is helping him build a case that the "deep state" attempted to launch an anti-democratic coup.

What Trump and Barr are undertaking is a massive disinformation campaign abetted by the full weight of "Trump's Justice Department" and Trump News to literally redefine what is "Bleedin' Obvious". It is "The Big Lie" staring us in the face.
