The large multi-nationals of the time like the East India company were the exception, not the rule. So the founders really didn't give them much thought.

Corporations are not even mentioned in the Constitution. We need to add amendments to define their limits.

I'm going off on Corporations in this thread because they are one of the major problems with the money in politics. Which leads back to the underlying motivation for most everything that is wrong with our government right now.

Corporations had to charter with the states of residence and there were charges for the public good that they had to fulfill or lose their charter. Even though Andrew Jackson was ultimately an idiot, he showed that the government had significant power over corporations when he revoked the charter of the National Bank.

In 1862 a clerk's interpretation of a portion of the ruling in Southern Pacific Railroad v. County of Santa Clara gave birth to the idea that corporations were individuals and took many of the constraints off of them.

What they intended doesn't matter. They built a system and used words that, even if they had the loftiest motives, isn't working.

Well, except for the Second Amendment.

never expected a vile, crude con artist to enlist the help of Russia and Saudi Arabia to get into the WH as president. All previous contenders were fully vetted. Then along came this orange repulsive blob of fat. Never before tRump was there a crooked person with no morals determined to pay off his debts by bankrupting the country. He is a first, and hopefully LAST example of a totally unqualified con artist, backed by the equally corrupt gop, to make it into the WH. What a disgrace.

But developing a political system with supposed checks and balances based on which party is in power and by what portion of majority was a recipe for disaster considering they were trying to create a system to nullify just that type of problem.

I know she doesnt do indictments. But she would be screaming for them if she thought there was a solid case FOR them. She's not. I trust that she knows this is a long game & she knows how to play it
All this constant whining about "lock him up!", etc, does not pull trump voters away from him. And it actually could drive voters TO him, as he gets to play "victim".
