Calling others "illegals"

There is work being done on the freeway near where I live. The speed has been reduced to 55 and there are sign boards in place showing how fast you are going.
I saw most everyone going well over 55 with one at 85 mph.

My point here is that reserving the term "illegals" to POC from south of the border is blatantly racist.

Otherwise, many of us should be called "illegals".

2. realistically, immigrants crossing the border illegally and with out papers are illegal.

The question is all about how to handle immigration. I and almost all i know with in my democratic circle friends want real immigration policy.

5. It's a way of dehumanizing people

The same as calling people roaches or animals. Diminishing the humanity of othered groups is a way of making people comfortable with hate directed towards them. It's how people became willing to turn in the Jewish neighbors they had known as friends.
It's also applies to reducing enemies to inhuman collections of bodies. Soldiers are trained to abandon what they have been taught about the immorality of killing and cruelty. It is a lot to overcome but when they are Japs rather than Japanese or gooks rather than Vietnamese it helps soldiers become more comfortable with killing.
