and nearly everyone has cool star trek communicators these days, and there are household computers that respond to the sound of your voice, and cars that drive themselves.
and at the same time, there are people who are stuck in the 12th century.
in truth, these things are not unrelated. notice it's the really, really stupid people who feel left out who are creating all the problems.
while most of us are busy creating and using these fantastic new technologies, they're busy saying, "durrrrrr, gimme stuff cuz mah skin's pink."

(901 posts)happen to also be the most religious (read that superstitious) and the people who need an authority figure to fawn over and do their thinking for them.
What is sad to me is how many of those kind of people there are, millions, enough to be dangerous when they're being stupid and superstitious as an organized group.
