subpoenas! Trump has spent his life avoiding legal responsibilities. And he does it very often by just ignoring legal summonses. And he has gotten into his 70's without any real complications from this type of behavior.

First, who exactly would arrest Mnuchin and on what authority? The jurisdiction of the Capitol Hill police is by law very narrow and most definitely would not extend to the office of the Secretary of the Treasury for a non-violent crime.

Second, I suppose there could be an attempt to cite Mnuchin for contempt if the returns aren't provided, but that process is time consuming.

In the real world, if Mnuchin doesn't comply, one side or the other will go to court for a determination as to whether Mnuchin is required to comply and if the court orders him to comply and he refuses, he could face a contempt citation issued by the court, not by congress.

If contempt citation IS issued by the court, how many appeals could the Mnuchin team come up with? (I do understand THIS is the only process, BUT seems like a never ending battle)
