Hat tip, commenter "bkmn" at Joe.My.God: Biden Jokes About Inappropriate Touching Controversy
Goodness, Elizabeth Hasselbeck sounds as Christian as a Trump on this leaked audio. Please pray that nobody hears this potty-mouth when the cameras are off, lest they come to regard her holier-than-thou, goody-two-shoes public persona as simply an act.

(7,627 posts)it's a Bible Belt thing?? I know of some people that claim to be Buddhists but not well. Most of the White Christians I know with just a few exceptions are clearly racist and sanctimonious about their religion and feel they are being persecuted?? I've always thought of religion as a personal thing but for some reason most people think of it as a social/political issue along with the laws that they prefer based upon their religious beliefs. I don't really care what people believe just leave it in their church or home and away from our political system. We are not a Theocracy. These days it makes me ill knowing that most Christians have embraced and vote for a man that is clearly immoral and racist. That sends a clear message to me and lots of others about Christian values.
I could be wrong - it could be that I am confusing white privilege/supremacy with religion since most are Christian?? Because most Black/Latino do not seem to embrace the same philosophy?? I just look back through history and it points to religion.

(12,504 posts)As a 3rd grader in the 50s the Daughters of Charity nuns taught us that all non-catholics would burn in the flames of hell for eternity. She was talking about all protestants, like lutherans, episcopalians, baptists, etc.
It wasn't until a year later when the Sisters of St Joseph arrived that they revised the burning in hell thing to some unspecified time, maybe many centuries, of suffering in purgatory (sort of a hell-lite). The Jesus business is a cut throat way of life.
