"SNIP....
Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci told CNN that President Trump lies because he thinks its fun.
Said Scaramucci: He does it because he thinks its fun and he also does it because he likes the fact that you guys are talking about it Theres a very large group of people inside of our population that when he does it and the media talks about it, they laugh.
.....SNIP"

(8,090 posts)a lying asshole. I've been aware of Drumpf since the '80s and then the Central Park Five. The guy is a fucking pig.

(90,714 posts)Trump's essential personality traits are still there: the need to dominate the news cycle, the bullying, the lying, the need to have everything be all about him, the violence.
The catastrophic change is that he can't keep track of the lies any more and can't sustain a thought. It's like watching a famed juggler begin to fumble and drop -- oranges. We are watching him unravel and decompensate before our eyes.

(7,522 posts)The crinimals I've worked with will tell you that one of the side benefits they get from cheating and stealing (and the lying that is integral to it) is because it gives them a sense of power to "get over on someone", to con them. Just one more example that tRump is nothing but a criminal.

(12,344 posts)He lies because he can and it ties other people in knots. The best thing for most of us to do is ignore the lies. But not enough people are able to ignore it, so they furiously debunk or ridicule.
A strategy candidates can use is to sarcastically say, "I'll consider that," then talk about real policy as if he said nothing at all.

(14,961 posts)the other night, the way in one breath he jumped around to about 5 subjects, it is crazy to see written down. He went from wind, to bird graveyards, to NK, ...and on and on. You could actually feel the gears in his brain getting all screwed up. Insane.

(82,849 posts)That juicy one about wind turbine noise causing cancer is an easy one. One of Trump's minions couldn't bolt fast enough when questioned about it, gabbling something about not having that information before dashing off. It's easy to frame: You've claimed that wind turbine noise causes cancer; what's your source for that assertion, and what is your administration doing to limit these dire health consequences you allege are happening?
