David Stringer on child sex trafficking, 'I don't like to demonize it'

Former Arizona Rep. David Stringer made disturbing comments about child sex trafficking and his interactions with children within the past few years, two Prescott women told ethics investigators.

Those statements are included in new records the state House of Representatives released Wednesday from its ethics investigation into complaints against Stringer, who resigned last week over accusations that he raped children in the 1980s.

Among the new records are notes about a conversation Stringer had with an activist during a 2018 Republican Women of Prescott meeting, where he disputed that child sex trafficking is a problem.

As a country, we are slowly approaching the point in time where we can face and adequately address this epidemic that far too often is swept under the rug and tacitly accepted.

things that are being covered up by not only WH but many in Congress and elsewhere in our government. One of the things Barr is covering up, and maybe that's his motivation for applying for and taking his AG job, to cover up a global sex trafficking network that he probably benefits from. I think that is part of the money laundering network too. How much $$ changes hands for a pervert with too much money in a sex slave transaction?

Amount other things, he claims child sexual abuse has no lasting effects, and insinuates being taken out for ice cream and then raped by a relative is normal*. Someone please search his laptop.

*its “part of the experience”. His words.

10. Obviously the comments look horrific in hindsight knowing he was involved in it ...

At the time I believe he was saying 'it's not happening in Arizona in large numbers like some are saying it is, it's not some kind of epidemic here'.

IOW, it wasn't obvious at the time that he was essentially defending it because he was a sex offender himself or that sort of thing. He was making a different point at the time. The sort of thing that one might expect a politician defending his State ... to say.

Just saying.
