If the world doesn’t do something to stop the progression of climate change the weather will kill us off. It isn’t just going to get a little worse and then level off at that point. It’s going to just get worse and worse and worse. And it’s already becoming life threatening now

Those who think hating minorities and women is more important than looking after our planet, then they will reap what they sow. Sadly many caring folks will suffer with those fools.

I grew up in northern Alabama. This is typical
weather this time of year. Not saying it won't be
worse in the future, though.

away last night. The winds were really strong and it was a real fluke we didn't lose power. No early lettuce for us, though.

Started out cloudy this a.m. and has gone steadily downhill all day. Currently raining and expecting the heavier storms this evening.

A tornado skipped around in our neighborhood at night two years ago, narrowly missing our house but taking out a huge live oak at the corner of our house and destroying privacy fence. Not to mention scaring the ever loving crap out of us. Neighbors one street over lost everything, so we were lucky. Weather like what we’re having today brings back unpleasant feelings but we just stay glued to the weather and have our safe place ready — bathroom in the center of the house. Plan before you need it because once you get the warning, you may only have 30 seconds to a minute to get in a safe place.

with family in SE Miss and in the Mobile area. I messaged with my SIL a little while ago in Mobile and she said it was really coming down, so I guess it’ll get to us a little later in the day. It has already been raining here for several hours. We need the rain (almost in drought conditions) but not all at once!

It's a common occurrence but it's always worrying and the pump stations are uneven at best. Still. After everything.

Some have been fixed and some replaced but not all and it's still pretty herky-jerky. The city is literally a big bowl in the middle of a wetland that's been compromised by the oil companies for decades. I suspect it will fall to climate change someday. But oh man, it's still glorious now. WET and glorious.

But if the weather were to pick up a house and drop it on Matt Gaetz as it crosses into Florida, well... that would be Karma.

Oh. Did I just 'say' that out loud? Oops.

Seriously - stay safe.
