There’s .. a pathology of sorts .. at the core of the .. administration’s response to the humanitarian crisis at the .. border.
... Kirstjen Nielsen .. is appealing to congressional Democrats to engage in a constructive effort to find real solutions to the crisis. Nielsen has embarked on a new .. campaign to get Democrats to consider legal changes that will supposedly ameliorate the situation.
... as this is happening, Trump is .. threatening or putting in place .. responses .. utterly disconnected from the realities... These actions will only make the situation worse ...
... White House aides are .. scrambling .. to dissuade Trump from closing .. the border .. telling him that this would do .. economic damage ...
... there is zero evidence that this .. troubles Trump ...
