How long it will take to undo the damage Trump is inflicting on this country.

Only if we have a completely Democratic Government in 2020.

Some things can be undone the first year, some will take a full Presidential term.
And some, like the Judiciary, will take 20 years.

In some sense, it doesn't appear in a two party system the damage to the GOP will ever be undone. It only gets comically worse over the past 30 years. It would take the complete collapse of the party to "FIX" America. That also feels unlikely so the best we will see is patchwork changes. I think our days as the most powerful country on the planet are over. America isn't over, but the American Empire is.

foxnews and hate radio are closer to the underlying disease. donnie really isn't objectively that much different than shrub, quite frankly. it's just that shrub was vastly better at sticking to the proper social, political, governance, and rhetorical norms.

but shrub also won while losing the popular vote and proceeded to run largely in contempt of the will of the majority. after republicans complained about clinton's "executive overreach" and "jack-booted thugs", they suddenly came to believe in a "unitary executive" with vast unquestioned power once they were the ones in the oval office.

shrub also passed a massive tax cut for the rich, but he was just clever enough to give the rest of the taxpayers a small token.

and, of course, he screwed up the economy and shoved us head-first into a huge financial crisis.

donnie is not really much different, and is the logical consequence of the hyper-partisanship of foxnews and the balkanization of the media. republicans can nearly lock up enough electoral votes to win just relying on the brainwashed masses who watch foxnews 10 hours a day.

donnie is a product of foxnews. really, he's little more than a loyal viewer. he gets all his ideas and "facts" and talking points from foxnews.

donald fraud will go away one way or another. but foxnews is here to stay, and we must figure out a way to effectively counter it.

otherwise we'll just end of with more of the same, eventually.
