I used to live in San Francisco and rode the "N" Judah train to work. There were days when I wouldn't hear English for the entire trip there. Or home. I never ever considered it offensive. Some languages are even musical. For eight years, it was a straight-up delight.

Also, in 'toon #6 -- read it again, but this time, think about the fact that the Brits have a VERY DIFFERENT meaning for the word "spunk."
