I try to stay well-informed, but I realize I've lost the narrative on the national emergency that Trump declared. Here's where I THINK we are:
Trump declared a national emergency at the border.
The House and the Senate voted to end the declaration of emergency.
Trump vetoed the bill.
So, what now? I'm sure the House will vote to override the veto. Maybe they already have? It looked as though the Republican Senate would remain the spineless bots they are. Has there been a vote? In either chamber?
Again, where are we and what happens next? Anyone know?
It seems as though this is important and, like so many other things, it's dropped off the radar. I'm asking because I wonder if it's time to raise our voices to our representatives on the issue.

(12,344 posts)It goes to the courts now. The question will be whether he can use an emergency to subvert Congress' power of the purse.
What Dems voted not to override? Ill look that up.
And thanks.
