(51,610 posts)I wish I heard the family news on Fri tomorrow instead...and this weekend nightmare would have been a bad joke. Unfortunately it isn't.... my dad suddenly died on Fri. Yes, March sucked big time for me.

(51,610 posts)I was supposed to die first...I was all prepared for that scenario. But this was just. BAM!!! He was even planning helping me with my taxes today as usual, and the new forms too. It is unreal and I will surely screw up since they only thing I can concentrate on is finding more clean tissues.
I think I heard his ghost too. At 12:30 AM the day he died I heard someone (a man with shoes) walking in the EMPTY apt upstairs for about 30 seconds and I even got a neighbor to check it out. My dog's ghost came to my room about 5 times in the week after her death so it's possible.

(53,410 posts)The grief comes in waves but then you just cant imagine hes gone. Your mind takes a while to accept what has happened. It has nothing to do with reason or logic.
Talk about it as much as you need to because it helps you get through it. If you have family this will bring you closer, if youre already close.
I know what you mean about feeling the presence of someone who has passed. Both people and pets. Whos to say it isnt quite real.
I lost my brother my parents and my son at different times so I an assure you that you survive this. Sometimes you wish not to survive but you do. Youll find yourself remembering the good times much more than you think.

Hugs to you and your family.

(51,610 posts)It is too, too much of a surprise to me and my mom and sister. We are devastated. Sunday would have been their 59th anniv too. This sucks more than having that orange ass in the W House. Until last Fri I didn't think that was possible.
