to generalize it. The TV ratings are, to him, a reality TV star, basically how he really measures his "success" in life--I think at the root of it, it's not even really the wealth and power so much as just the attention he gets. Hell, he's kinda like a cat...it doesn't even matter if it's good or bad attention, as long as everyone is paying attention to him.
