Toxic Dems, Republicans? Really?

I recently read that your strategy for re-electing Trump in 2020 is to simply demonize all Democratic candidates in order to make them “toxic” to the voters.

Well, first of all, it seems rather bizarre that the only way you can make your “pResident” look good is to make his opponents look worse – but I think we can agree that that speaks for itself.

In any event, I have to inform you that it isn’t even remotely possible that the Democrats could come up with a candidate who is more “toxic’ than your boy. But we thought that out of sheer curiosity, we’d see if we could locate anyone within our ranks who could stoop lower than Trump has – and despite our best efforts, we struck out.

We can’t find anyone immoral enough to lock kids in cages, take healthcare away from Americans, and is who willing to collude with the Russians and then kiss Putin’s ass on the world stage.

We don’t have a single person on our side who would appoint their daughter an “advisor” despite the fact she can’t get security clearance – or has a daughter he encouraged men to refer to as a “hot piece of ass” on a popular radio show.

We couldn’t find anyone in our party who has been sued for racial discrimination, stiffing workers and vendors, running a scam ‘university’, or has had their charity shut down due to rampant corruption.

We actually did a number of speech run-throughs with a few potential candidates. But to our utter chagrin, they invariably lapsed into full, coherent sentences and were truthful to a fault.

We failed to locate a single Democrat who was willing (or even able) to lie upwards of twenty times per day – and try as they might, all were unable to create misspelled, inane tweets that look like a cUt * pastE NO COLLUSHUN!!! RansuM note crafted by a crazed, inept kidnapper.

There wasn’t a single potential candidate willing to make a fool of him/herself by insisting that wind-power means your electricity shuts down when the wind dies, or that stealth bombers are literally invisible. To a man/woman, they all take climate change and protecting the environment seriously, and would not be moved from that position.

We came up empty on a number of fronts. We could not find any potential Democratic candidates who would commit to appointing incompetent cronies to his/her cabinet, and they all absolutely refused to grovel in front of our enemies. And on the topic of adversarial foreign leaders, we just don’t have anyone who is stupid enough to give Kim Jung-Un a lot of what he wanted and then walk away “in love” – but nonetheless empty-handed.

We simply have no one on our side who is the target of multiple ongoing investigations, who has threatened the schools they attended if they leak his/her academic record, who thinks white supremacists and Nazis are “very fine people”, or has ever proclaimed themselves to be a pussy-grabber.

I’m afraid that in the toxic sweepstakes, we really can’t best your “pResident” in a single category. From blatant dishonesty to abject stupidity, from embarrassing the country in front of the world to encouraging violence here at home, from giving tax-breaks to the top 1% and declaring it a “middle-class tax-cut” to being too lazy to walk two blocks or being too sulky to attend an international ceremony honouring our war dead, I’m afraid your “pResident” is truly out of our league.

If you want to pursue the ”we’ll make any Democratic comer look more toxic to voters than Trump” strategy, go right ahead. But until you can top the toxicity of the tub-o’-lard you are required to defend against scandals, lies, investigations, lawsuits, and his own stupidity 24/7, it’s a fool’s errand – but then being fools is pretty much all you have left, isn’t it?

But obviously, the Republicans have determined that doing so is their only hope.

they are acting conspicuously like habitually abusive husbands who are discovering that their abused wives are walking out the door. They throw temper tantrums and then trash-talk the victim and project all their faults and shortcomings onto the victim and even trying to have the victim committed to a mental health facility.

That is all they have left, an old used-to-be tried and true way of defeating their victim once and for all... and it isn't working this time.

Really, what everyone should do is start looking at our elected people, locally, and start exposing them for their criminal activity more than we do. The crooks have to go, now, one way or another.

gotten the voters he routinely betrays to reelect him for decades. Not by serving them. With the support of a fabulously wealthy donor base, he's even said right out in public that talking to voters is a waste of his time.

Instead, for decades at election time, the people of Kentucky have been flooded with swiftboating of whoever runs against him. McConnell's backers donate as much as it takes to destroy the opponents' reputations with the electorate and even McConnell looks good in comparison.

A mailbox full of Republican campaign ads with a candidate surrounded by unflattering photoshopped pictures of Nancy Pelosi, AOC and Hillary Clinton. That seems to be their way of making someone toxic.

It's about suppressing turnout for anti-Trump voters by dampening enthusiasm for his opponent.
