If youre the sort of person who still believes President Donald Trumps promises on health care, theres probably nothing at this point that could dissuade you from the notion that Republicans have a fix at the ready to replace Obamacare.
If, however, youre the sort of person who pays attention to the world around you, you have good reason to believe that Trumps latest vow to reform the health care system is as bogus and disingenuous as all his others.
On the heels of the Justice Departments announcement Monday that it is fully backing a lawsuit that would eradicate the entire Affordable Care Act ― a decision Trump reportedly directed himself ― the president has begun making big promises that he and the Republican Party are on the verge of revealing a tremendous new plan that will make American health care great for everybody.
If the Supreme Court rules that Obamacare is out, well have a plan that is far better than Obamacare, Trump told reporters in the White House Wednesday, according to a pool report. On Tuesday, he said, The Republican Party will soon be known as the party of health care. You watch. He later tweeted the same thing.

Total incompetence from the GOP, as always, when it comes to legislating, public policy, and finding their respective asses with both hands and a GPS system.
Idiots.

(32,724 posts)have Mitch McConnell come up with a solution to health care. Then blame him and congress for screwing up. He knows zero about health care.

(5,376 posts)I've always believed that Trump is just doing the things that the Republicans have always wanted to do but are too cowardly. Their plan is to let every bad policy be associated with Trump so they aren't directly blamed. Heck, even we repeatedly fall for it, by blaming Trump for everything when people like McConnell and Mulvaney are really behind it all.
