A majority (56%) says the President and his campaign have not been exonerated of collusion, but that what they've heard or read about the report shows collusion could not be proven. Fewer, 43%, say Trump and his team have been exonerated of collusion.
Although Mueller could not establish Trump or his campaign "conspired or coordinated with" the Russian government, according to Barr's letter, the poll finds the American people continue to view the issue through partisan lenses.
Republicans and Democrats are on opposite sides of this question: 77% of Republicans say the President has been exonerated, 80% of Democrats say he has not. Independents break against exoneration -- 58% say the President and his campaign were not exonerated.

(17,984 posts)I mean this is a fucking poll based on fucking speculation! And it's being reported as news?!?!?!
I'm not admonishing you, spanone, for posting it. And I understand why you feel it is newsworthy. I just can't get over the fact that the MSM is reporting a poll based on speculation.

(24,259 posts)Maybe it's because according to Trump's cherry picked AG who had only had the, what I'm very sure is lengthy and highly detailed, report for 2 days, if that, said that Mueller's report said (from HERE), "While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, Barr quotes the Mueller report as saying, it also does not exonerate him."
Also according to the article above...
Barr reveals that, after reviewing Muellers report, both he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded that there wasnt sufficient evidence to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense. Barr made the determination not to pursue an obstruction charge, in part, because Mueller had concluded there was no underlying crime related to Russian election interference to cover up.
This could all be cleared up quickly if they'd release Mueller's report, sans any 'fixing' by Trump admin or Barr, as previously Trump had said he was okay with. If he's so innocent, why not release it? Why block it? Innocent people shouldn't fear the truth, they should happily share proof of it.

(905 posts)After getting raked over the coals in social media (along with the BBC) for continually referring to Barr's MEMO as the Mueller Report itself, interesting that CNN has chosen the "glide path" approach to correcting the error of their ways: Now it's the "Mueller Summary."
BONK! Wrong again. Maybe in another two days, CNN will glide into referring to it as the "BARR Summary." That too would actually be incorrect. I've seen high schoolers write better abstracts (summaries of research reports) than this gobboldy-gook!
At best, the most we can possibly call this is a MEMO OF OPINION (much like the turd Nunes Memo). I think the BBC will probably beat CNN in the glider race to eventually calling it for what it is.
