"Free dinner seminar for stem cell therapy" horse manure.

Yesterday evening a friend had invited me to go to a so-called “free dinner” seminar for stem cell therapy. We both went and it was an absolute crock.

First, we didn’t have a dinner. The host, Dr. soandso,
said that the either the kitchen or the dining room was being remodeled. This was at a country club, by the way. I think he was full of shit about that because as soon as we got out of the car, we could smell the odor of something savory cooking. I think it was just that he didn’t want to pay for the dinner.

He magnanimously paid for some chocolate covered protein bars and some kind of chocolate protein drink in a little carton that was terrible. I didn’t drink it. Also there were some fruit slices at the end toward the end of the dog and pony show. Not exactly a free dinner.

Now, you may think I’m going on and on about the free dinner. Which I am. But I don’t like being lied to. And this man lied to everybody who came and There were about 50-60 people there.

Anytime I catch somebody in a lie, I have to wonder what else are they lying about.

Then he showed a PowerPoint presentation and gave this spiel about how stem cell therapy could help people who would otherwise need knee replacements, hip replacements, etc.

I don’t doubt that Stem cell therapy could do some wonderful things. But this guy did not inspire my confidence. In fact he reminded me of a preacher who claims to heal people.

The presentation closed with a brief video clip. On one side of the screen, the elderly man interacted with his family, enjoy time with his grandson, went playing golf. On the other side of the screen an elderly man Was in a hospital gown, in a nursing home, getting around with a walker, etc. an emotional hook if ever there was one.

When I left, I saw a middle-age woman pushing an elderly man in a wheelchair out to their car. He got in the car and she folded up the wheelchair and put it in the trunk. At this point, I thought again of a preacher who claims that he can heal people.

I’m open to trying alternative therapies, but there are a lot of shysters out there.
