The Department of Justice notified the House Judiciary Committee that it can expect to receive a written summary of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigative conclusions by Sunday at 5 p.m., a lawmaker on the panel told The Hill.
News of the briefing comes after Attorney General William Barr notified lawmakers on the House and Senate Judiciary panels Friday evening that he could be ready to brief lawmakers as soon as this weekend on the principal conclusions reached by Mueller in his sprawling 22-month probe.

(4,613 posts)Atty. Gen. William P. Barr plans on Sunday to send Congress what he considers the principal conclusions from the Russia investigation led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, according to a person familiar with his plans.
Barr has spent the weekend reviewing Muellers confidential report, which was submitted to him on Friday, and preparing a letter summarizing the special counsels work.
The letter is the first step in what will likely become a prolonged tug-of-war over fully disclosing the findings and defining what they mean for President Trump.
Its also expected to send shockwaves throughout Washington, where Democrats and Republicans have been scrambling for political leverage even before Muellers conclusions were known, and potentially could alter the political landscape for the 2020 presidential campaigns.

(26,045 posts)Hes already said hes going to omit anything that could prove prejudicial to anyone not indicted. Since, according to DoJ rules, a sitting president cant be indicted, it would immediately follow that its his duty to whitewash Trump, and had been since the day he assumed office.
