Where Julian Assange is hiding. Wikileaks is tweeting that men with ear-pieces are stationed in the neighborhood. Might be nothing, might lead to his arrest. Who knows?

11. That looks like his arrest several years ago for extradition to Sweden over the rape charges

(and note he no longer faces those in Sweden; he's now wanted in the UK for breaking his bail conditions over them). Notice that picture 6 is captioned "US Defence Secretary Robert Gates was pleased when informed of Mr Assange's arrest. " There is nothing at all in current UK news about Assange.

14. Guardian reporter: London police were near embassy because of a BURGLARY report.

Some speculation around this evening about a police operation involving Wikileaks' Julian Assange.

London's Met police say they were in the area of the Ecuadorian embassy earlier this evening but it was in relation to "reports of an attempted burglary and a suspect at large".

Officers say they put a containment in place but couldn't find the suspect and the operation has finished.

Full Met police statement 👇

"Police were called to Addison Road, W14 at 5.44pm on Friday 22 March following reports of an attempted burglary and a suspect at large.

"Officers attended and attempted to trace the subject. A containment was temporarily put in place and a description circulated. No arrests have been made. There are no reported injuries.

"The containment has been lifted. Enquiries continue."

It's worth noting that these things (the apparent police presence at the embassy and the police op referred to above) may not be linked at all.

Bottom line, the Met police say, is that they aren't aware of any operation at the embassy today.

Will update if I learn anything else
