What proof has there ever been that President Obama was born in Kenya or Indonesia? His visa was checked out during the campaign...Someone was trying to find proof that he had traveled out of the country perhaps to Kenya. President Obama has shown his proof of his birth certificate from Hawaii, but there are those who choose to believe he is lying or faking his certificate. President Obama has had to show proof of his taxes and his birth place and has had to take much harassment over it as well. What make Governor Romney above the scrutiny.

What people fail to recognize is the first time Obama was asked about his birth certificate he showed everyone the legal and official birth certificate recognized by the state of Hawaii.

He is the one running for president. He isn't in court, so nobody needs legal proof. If he wants to be president, he needs to assure those he wants to vote for him that he is a good choice, and for a lot of people this lack of transparency and the questions about what he's hiding make them decide he isn't a good choice.

He of course has the ability to prove he doesn't have any issues with his taxes. It would be really easy for him to release them.

then he should absolutely release them. But it hasn't been an issue except with the far right wing, who wouldn't vote for him anyway.

But moderates are very concerned about Romney's taxes. It's all about getting votes. If not releasing information will lose you votes, then it makes sense to release the information. If it won't make a difference, then it doesn't matter if you release them.
