https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/robert-kraft-request-blocking-prostitution-video-releaseFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) The attorneys representing New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and other men charged in a Florida massage parlor prostitution investigation are asking a judge to block the release of video recordings that police say shows them engaging in sexual acts.
They also say the prosecutors conditions for the men entering a diversion program in exchange for dropping misdemeanor charges of soliciting prostitution are too harsh.
Attorneys for Kraft and 14 of the other 24 men charged said in court documents filed this week that releasing the video taken secretly by police inside the Orchids of Asia Day spa during January would violate the states public records law.
They said the videos should not be released because they are part of an ongoing investigation and have not been released to the defendants as part of the discovery process, where both sides exchange evidence for examination before trial. Under Florida law, most evidence collected in criminal cases is made public during discovery with some exceptions, such as confessions.

and then yesterday he rejected a plea deal which would have dropped charges if he admitted guilt:

(4,429 posts)The system? Sexist (the women always get the jail time, the men a simple plea deal).
But Kraft wants more than that rigged system. He wants the "I have money" justice program

(14,988 posts)the logical self-interested move would be to DEMAND the release of the tapes, and take your lumps on the embarrassment of partial or complete nudity therein in order to clear one's name from the immoral and illegal behavior alleged, and remove any taint of illegality from his multibillion-dollar businesses.
But he's not doing that. He's doing the opposite. He's trying to prevent the public from seeing supposedly exculpatory evidence.
I don't believe his claims of innocence.

I am certainly not OK with a meaningless plea deal.
