A bare majority per your link is not sufficient. I live in a progressive blue state with tough gun laws and low levels of gun violence. Supporters can't get an AWB passed here no matter how hard they try.

...the next crazy person can just pack 4 loaded Glocks with 17 round mags and a bunch of spares for reloads.

Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 and wounded 17 with just 2 pistols at Va Tech.
