(146,317 posts)My wife came back from a trip to California to visit my parents, only to find 16" of snow in our driveway. Fortunately St. Paul had plowed the street, so we had somewhere to park. Otherwise, I'd have had to get the snowblower out and make room at night.
It was fortunate, too, that a neighbor had used his snowblower to make a path from the street to our side door.

(15,423 posts)To me, living in NYC is cold enough. I'm pissed that it's only 45 today.

(146,317 posts)It's not what I would call hard, though. It's a little different from living in California, which I did for almost 60 years before moving here. some preparation is required. Some additional equipment is needed to deal with snow when it falls. You also need additional clothing that is designed to keep you warm, regardless of the temperature. Things like keeping your heating system in good order are important.
But, it's not really hard to live here. It's just different.
