It should be MEDICAID FOR ALL, not Medicare

Medicare Part B monthly premiums are in the low to mid hundreds. There is a deductible that is nearly $200 in many cases. After the deductible people pay for 20% of each medical visit. Also, there is no drug coverage so people have to help companies rob Medicare by enrolling in a Part D plan from the private sector.

Medicaid for all would be an all-inclusive medical plan with little to no cost.

Either way, both programs would need to be strengthened to cover more medical needs.

My husband and I are on Medicare and we pay our dental needs out of pocket since the dental insurance available in our area is crappy. The dentist gives us a 10% discount for paying at the time of service.

I don't understand why teeth and eyes aren't considered part of medicine.

And I am probably due to get those as well. Costco seems to be the best bet that I've found so far. Free testing and no sales pressure. Medicare doesn't cover them either.

Us oldsters are on our own.

Fortunately for me, I had cataracts in both eyes and those were covered under Medicare. Now my vision is better than it has ever been in my whole life!! (Worn glasses/lenses since I was 2.)

To negotiate now. So it is getting worse for workers.

Now Trump wants to cut billions from Medicaid and Medicare.

Vote for Republicans at your own risk.

Think we need to shoot for something possible in today’s political climate.

We aren’t going to get 100% coverage, including dental, vision, and hearing. The best we’ll get, and it’s a long shot, is something like Medicare with something like Medicaid to pick up cost-sharing for poor.

rejected Medicaid expansion under the ACA, some have enacted work requirements, etc. I would not want to be at the mercy of the state where I currently live (Tennessee) for my healthcare.

not been simply an extension of the current Medicare program, as is, to everyone. Instead they have been a complete overhaul of Medicare to make it a single simple comprehensive and typically no fee system.

Medicaid is means tested, Medicare is not. Medicare is in fact wildly popular, while after 40 years of right wing propaganda against any program benefitting poor people, Medicaid carries a stigma.

are aware that the current version of Medicare is woefully inadequate, please take a look at Rep. Jayapal's bill to make Medicare comprehensive and extend it to everyone. And please contact your rep and Speaker Pelosi.
