ASHINGTON U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he does not mind if the public is allowed to see the report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is preparing about his investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and any possible links to the Trump campaign.
Mueller is preparing to submit a report to U.S. Attorney General William Barr on his findings, including Russia's role in the election and whether Trump unlawfully sought to obstruct the probe. Trump has denied collusion and obstruction. Russia has denied interfering in the election.
Barr already is coming under pressure from lawmakers to make the entire document public quickly, though he has wide latitude in what to release.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted 420-0 last week on a nonbinding resolution calling for Mueller's report to be released both to Congress and to the public, but it is not clear how the measure will fare in the Senate.

Is that before or after the AG doing redactions?

(988 posts)Barr is going to give the report the the white house first. they will suggest executive privilege on a large chunk of items.
Barr will agree.
The report will come and it wont say anything other than what we have already seen. There where things done that where in appropriate but no criminal prosecutions.
Trump will say... "See no collusion"
then he will invite the independents back in that might have left him because of collusion.
then they will say .... look at the Dems who are constantly investigating me... and that will have negative impact on Dems
Dems trying to do the right thing will find themselves OUT manuevered again.
If this happens, I am getting pretty fed up with the Dems inability to effect any change on these things and constantly get beat up.
The Rs will do anything to win and they WIN. The dems complain about not having done this right but it will all be considerd Crying.
I hope I am wrong.

(15,124 posts)the public is allowed to see the report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is preparing---. HE SAID he had told THE HOUSE to "let them see it."
The House can only release what the House receives. Trump's new AG, Mr. "Hire me! Hire me!" Barr will decide what PORTION of the Mueller report will go to Congress. And, according to recent reports, Trump wants to see the report BEFORE Congress. What could go wrong?
MSN should report what was said; not what they kinda think was sorta said that maybe sounds vaguely reassuring.
