How Dare You, Mike Shields?

I just watched you on a segment of the Don Lemon Show on CNN – and really, how the fuck dare you?

As always, you lost no time diving into the Trump cesspool by defending the indefensible: Trump’s utterly appalling comments about John McCain. You reacted to his disgraceful remarks by saying that at least he’s “genuine” and wasn’t pretending to respect someone because they’d died, the way some Democrats were doing.

First of all, when you defended Trump disrespecting a dead man who obviously isn’t here to defend himself, you sunk to a whole new level of scum – and having heard you make excuses for this classless asshole before, I thought you’d already stooped as low as you could go – I was wrong.

Implying that Democrats are “faking” some new-found respect for Senator McCain is truly beneath contempt. Democrats respect those who have sacrificed much out of a sense of duty to their country, and have devoted themselves to public service – regardless of whether we agree with their politics. Democrats know how to honour those who have served honourably, and would never dismiss their contributions on the basis of their political party.

If you are truly concerned about people who suddenly alter their allegiances when politically expedient, you might want to question the Republicans who for decades revered John McCain as their “in-house war hero”, and have now joined your “pResident” in diminishing his sacrifice as a POW, tarnishing his military record, and demeaning him in ways no Democrat would ever stoop to.

Just when I think the bottom of the fetid GOP barrel has been scraped, you and/or one of your fellow spokes-whores manage to prove that the barrel is bottomless, and that there is nothing too disgusting, too vile, too mind-numbingly abhorrent to be dredged up from its depths and presented to the public as anything other than the steaming pile of dung it so obviously is.

I cannot imagine how bereft of principles one has to be to defend Trump at all. But defending his disrespect for a war hero is irrefutable proof of a complete abandonment of any morals you once might have pretended to have.

5. Yeah there with you. I consider McCain a hero. There's much with I disagree,

but what he did in the prison camp is beyond anyone’s criticism. He was heroic, and I truly admire him for that part of his life.

I, like most Democrats, can disagree with someone's ideology but respect the person. McCain was a decent person, and a real American hero.

How can someone say they can read the hearts of others and say they are not being genuine in their honoring McCain? I've never heard a Democrat trash McCain's war record or hero status, or imply his character is wanting or that he's unethical.

10. With all do respect

Inspite of some of John McCains bad decisions we as a party have continually backed his service and loyalty. We were all mindful at his death and continue to respect his memory. The GOP is the party that Cindy and Megan have embraced for way to long. How can they be surprised? If I were Meghan McCain I’d find it very hard to back a party so full of ass kissers. Maybe it’s time for Meghan McCain to finally come to grips with what an insane party she’s defending on the View!
