John McCain; A war hero and a statesman. During his career, I have certainly disagreed with him, but never disrespected him.
The President* of the United States, of the same party, chooses to denigrate a man who is no longer here to defend himself. What a piece of shit he is. But, I'm wondering what Trump's new lackey, Lindsey Graham is thinking?

Spreading the fake and totally discredited Dossier is unfortunately a very dark stain against John McCain. Ken Starr, Former Independent Counsel. He had far worse stains than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace after years of campaigning to repeal and replace!

(34,661 posts)forgot that the Ordinal Steele Dossier was put together as Opo Research for another Rethug Presidential Candidate bought and paid for buy one of the Rethugs heavy hitters. When that person was primaried out, then it was shopped to the DNC folks.
If it had not been for David Corn and Buzz Feed,we most likely would have not seen this.
Donnie is pissed because McCain recognized the Criminality of this Dossier and rather than bury it,and seeing the probable FEC violations, gave it to Comey and Company.

The Dossier. He turned it over to the FBI, ashe should have.
John also destroyed Republicans trying to kill the ACA!

(34,661 posts)This Dossier was the Rethugs death wish no matter what.
The Manure Spreader of Garbage has been increasing since Nixon and you just knew there would be a day that the Rethugs stepped into that Manure Pile and the Stench would not wash off.
McCain knew from the get go what the out come would be and he wanted no part of any cover up.
Remember he was the only conspirator in Keeting Five to escape prosecution. He knew the drill.

(17,988 posts)I remember that and it really embarrassed John.
I never agreed much with him, but the times he was needed he did the right thing. His War record made him a threat to Trump. He is such a spineless weakling he can not help but be morbidly jealous of John.

(34,661 posts)Naval Legacy was at stake. And McCain was all about protecting that Legacy. He might have been a screw up in the Navy, but he would never cause a mark on his Family Naval History.

(5,271 posts)During 2016 before the dossier even became public and long before McCains 's Obamacare vote, Trump started attacking McCain. Real reason was that McCain despised and distrusted him over Trump's pro- Russian stance. McCain knew all about Manafort trying to influence Repub politicians to be pro-Putin because Manafort had unsuccessfully tried to influence McCain to be favorable to Putin's interests.

(659 posts)So many times when I hear Reagan eulogized or his presidency held up as the model for all American presidents, I'll bash until I can't bash anymore from exhaustion. Granted, the bashing is completely true, but I can't let that disgusting man get away with it when he is being praised in my presence. When Cheney, Rumsfeld, W, Powell, Wolfowitz, Perle, Condi, Trump, Pence, and S. Sanders all die, I can promise I will not be kind to their memories either. Horrible people were horrible, even if they're dead now. Being dead, they won't feel the criticism, but their hideous politics, criminal behavior, war mongering, and repression of the less fortunate can never be forgotten lest it keep happening.

(11,575 posts)And they seem to eat at him constantly. Trump is obviously a supremely unhappy man. With everything he has, he still obsesses about past slights, real or imagined. He can't let go and move forward. It must be continuous mental torture being Donald Trump.

(8,652 posts)...of course, implied in any statement like the OP is the phrase "recently deceased". Certainly we can condemn Hitler, Nixon, John Wilkes Booth and the such.
But when a person of character is dead less than a year and anyone wants to debate his actions, that's a different story.
