A new Monmouth University poll finds President Trump's support eroding in key swing counties that elected him in 2016.

Poll Director Patrick Murray says right now, as President Trump looks to set up his 2020 reelection, the prospects do not look good: "38 percent say that they would vote to re-elect him right now, (but) 57 percent say it's time to have someone new in the oval office."

"One of the things that we look at are the 'swing areas,' those counties that really pulled him over the top of the Electoral College," Murray said. "You know this was pretty much an even race between Hillary Clinton and Trump back in 2016. Right now Trump has a big deficit in these swing counties" ...

9. 40 percent of Iowa Republicans want primary challenge

Forty percent of Republicans in Iowa say they hope President Trump faces a primary challenge in 2020, according to a poll published Monday.

But the CNN–Des Moines Register–Mediacom poll found that another 41 percent of Iowa Republicans say they don't want Trump to face a primary challenge, while the remaining 19 percent say they aren't sure.

Among those who are hopeful for a primary challenge to Trump, 63 percent say they approve of his job as president, according to an accompanying CNN report.

That's below the 97 percent who approve of Trump among those who said they did not want a primary challenger and the president's overall 81 percent approval rating among Republicans in the state ...

14. It is amazing,

Trump thinks Hispanics should vote for him. He has taken the children away from Hispanic families escaping near-certain death. He has supported purges of them as voters, and is trying to scare them (including U.S. citizens) from participating in the 2020 U.S. Census. I think some Hispanic U.S. citizens may have even been prevented from entering the U.S. and then, there is the racist language on the campaign trail and even while serving as President.

... Nearly half, 49 percent, of respondents in Michigan say they will definitely vote to replace Trump and another 16 percent say they will consider voting for someone else. Only 31 percent said they will definitely vote to re-elect Trump.

Self-described independent voters are driving down Trump's numbers. Among independents, 44 percent say they will definitely vote for someone else and 27 percent say they will consider backing another candidate, while only 18 percent say they would definitely vote to re-elect.

Meanwhile, 57 percent of women say they will vote for someone else and 17 percent say they will consider another candidate, compared with 41 percent of men who say they will vote for someone else and 14 percent who say they will consider someone else.

And while 67 percent of Republican voters said they would vote to re-elect Trump, that is well below the 80 percent of Republicans who believe he is doing a good or excellent job as president. Seventy-four percent of Republican men say they will definitely vote to re-elect Trump, but only 59 percent of Republican women agree ...
