said to go with MJ when they could not control her pain with pharmaceuticals. The dr. could not prescribe it but said OK to using it. It is called compassion.

Unless the federal law changes it will still be a crime after that.

As to whether police should act - I don't think it is a wise use of resources, but I have much more trouble with whatever medical personnel called the police. Patients need to be able to share openly with their physicians about what they are taking, legal or not, in order for the physician to safely prescribe for them (i.e. avoiding drug interference issue). They can't do that if they are afraid their doctors will tell the police they are using illegal subsances.
