Covington teenager planning to sue CNN for at least $250M, lawyer says

A lawyer representing Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann said in a new Fox News interview that Sandmann plans to sue CNN for at least $250 million.

L. Lin Wood, the attorney, said in an interview with Fox News host Mark Levin airing Sunday that they will file the suit early next week, on Monday or Tuesday.

"CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than The Washington Post. And CNN goes into millions of individuals' homes. It's broadcast into their homes," Wood told Levin.

"They really went after Nicholas with the idea that he was part of a mob that was attacking the Black Hebrew Israelites, yelling racist slurs at the Black Hebrew Israelites," he continued. "Totally false. Saying things like that Nicholas was part of a group that was threatening the Black Hebrew Israelites, that they thought it was going to be a lynching."

As I said before you don't even get $250 million for a wrongful death. Guess they're hoping for an undisclosed settlement which won't even approach that amount.

Someone on another site suggested this is nothing but a right wing funding stunt.

Lawyers in a case like this typically work on contingency. It wouldn't surprise me however to find out there's a "Go fund me" page for this kid.

BS suit. Politicized law firms know, in my opinon, they will lose - and lose fees; but know they can set up grifty fundraising to pay for their fees - and profit - for the law firm.

of defamation suit. The boy was already internet-famous before CNN reported on him, so the teen would have to prove actual "malice." Good luck on that.

... since they're broadcast into millions of homes and businesses daily airing direct attacks on common sense, truth, and democratic ideals, thus turning a fair portion of the electorate into biased, fearful, morons that are a menace to American democracy?
