...Some of the key personnel to protect the nation are not in post... some of the key people to make sure that the nations international interests are amplified are not in post...
The key person in the White house to try and keep the President in check is not in post....
Have you considered that this may not be a coincidence?
Internal harm by lack of leadership coupled with a lack of managed defence of the nation, while not protecting the the international position in a peaceful negotiating stance, by having a voice at the international table..... whilst all the while no-one to try and keep in check a wannabee strongman who really wants to lead an autocracy.
Lack of cohesion internally if a disaster where to happen
Lack of defence if there was an external threat
Lack of international partners to come to US aid, potentially
Lack of control of the loon in the White House
I cannot think of a time since the civil war that the Union has been in so much peril.
Chaps, I am not into conspiracies.... but neither am I into coincidences?!?!
P.S. As a Brit sometimes I can be very critical of my cousins across the pond. But this is because I give a shit! I know the UK is fucked at the moment also, but at least people are sitting in the right seats even if they are not saying or doing the right things.

Trump is an idiot.

(22,976 posts)Sadly, there are a fair number of Americans whod be just fine with a permanent Trump and one-party right-wing rule with no set expiry date.
Which is why 45 needs to be hounded until Election Day 2020, and even afterward, because in defeat, he will be a calumnious asshole.

Not that he'll ever get impeached for this....

(7,627 posts)because the GOP controlled Senate will never vote to get rid of him and therefore would just be a political move meaning nothing. If he is impeached before leaving office then at least that will be his legacy (aka Clinton). I worry that he might be re-elected and a early impeachment will just be a motivator for his base.
As sad as it sounds we just have to face the fact that about 50% of Americans support Trump or anybody but a Dem. I didn't think "W" could be re-elected but I was WRONG. We Dems need to understand that the most important thing in 2020 is to rid ourselves of Trump and get control of the Senate. Stop all of the infighting amongst ourselves.

(4,341 posts)Democrats need to become very proactive in anticipating the cheating that the repubs are going to do before and during the election, they will do anything to stay in power, even having the dotard as president.
The whole family trump, that include Jared as well, needs to be apprehended, but impeachment would not be good, Pence is worst because he is very evil and he has a brain.

(15,299 posts)I'm surprised there were still some russian-sounding names in the list of indictees.
Names like McConnell, Ryan, Rohrabacher are so much easier for the dimwits to accept. Has the NRA signed fealty agreements with the USSR also? Tea Potters? Proud Boys?

I think he's actually a very media savvy person. He built this whole life where people, until he ran, thought he was a genius. Evil genius with the media and NDAs to keep the ones who knew him quiet.

And of course, regardless of who is in what position, trump will still remain clueless

Nobody in the rank and file cabinet are there to stop anything,
just take orders to dismantle ALL we hold dear.
Just wait till people wake up and see whats happened.it will be too little, too late.
