Since his job as WH comm director was basically just promoting Trump, there will be no effective difference.

just that he would be supporting the campaign. Of course he will be paid, but they didn't list him as having a specific position.

The campaign itself is already a trainwreck. It is being headed up by that putz of a data director. It has no real staff other than that which raises funds and puts on rallies.

It's a money collector, not a political campaign. It doesn't really need much in the way of comms.

5. I read that Rupert sold Fox to Disney on late 2017...

and Disney now owns that huge lawsuit against Fox that wasn't well known about till recently.
