Fox News responded to being banned from hosting a 2020 Democratic debate, by begging the DNC to reconsider and claiming that the Trump cult is persuadable.

Bill Sammon, Fox News SVP/Managing Editor Washington said in a statement, “We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters.”‘

Fox Is Trying To Convince Democrats That Trump Voters Are “Persuadable”

Hillary Clinton thought that she could persuade Republicans to cross over and vote for her in 2016 and we all know how that turned out. Fox News is not the largest news audience in America. Each of the network nightly news shows draws three to four times more viewers than any Fox News program. A Washington Post fact checker poll found that Fox News viewers are the Americans who are most likely to believe Trump’s falsehoods.There isn’t just overlap between Trump supporters and Fox News viewership. They are the same people, and as Fox has gone more to the hard right, the less value it has for a party who is trying to flip the White House.

Democrats made the correct decision to exclude Fox News

There is a revolving door between Fox News and the Trump administration the likes of which the country has never seen. Fox News host Sean Hannity brags that he talks to Trump nights. The president watches Fox News and tweets about their programming on a nearly daily basis. Staff moves freely between the White House and Fox.

First off, Trump voters are not persuadable. They've had two years of looking at this fucker up close and personal. If the bribes, the corruption, the payoffs, the lies, the caging and torture of children, and all the rest doesn't have them dropping their support for Needy Amin, they are truly unreachable and irredeemably deplorable. Fuck them and fuck their feelings.

Second, if anyone at Fox embodied the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, they would have been out the door the second that New Yorker story hit the newsstands. Fox is the major media arm of the Trump campaign. End of story.

Fox viewers are going to have to change the channel if they want to watch the Democratic candidates debate. Too fucking bad. What I said before about their feelings? Yeah, that again.

Besides, why do they want host a Democratic debate anyway? Their programming consists exclusively of scummy lies and vicious libels. That's why deplorables watch their channel in the first place. Broadcasting an honest political debate between people with actual intelligence would hurt their ratings.
