Brand New Quinnipiac Poll Shows Trump in Big Trouble

<snip.March 5, 2019 - President Donald Trump committed crimes before he became president, American voters say 64 - 24 percent in a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Republicans say 48 - 33 percent that President Trump did not commit crimes before he was president, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University National Poll finds. Every other listed party, gender, education, age and racial group says by wide margins that Trump committed crimes.

But U.S. voters are divided 45 - 43 percent on whether Trump committed any crimes while he has been president. A presidential candidate paying money to hide a negative story during a campaign, and not disclosing that payment, is unethical and a crime, 40 percent of voters say. Another 21 percent say it is unethical, but not a crime, and 20 percent say it is not unethical. Congress should not begin impeachment proceedings against Trump, American voters say 59 - 35 percent. But Congress should do more to investigate "Michael Cohen's claims about President Trump's unethical and illegal behavior," voters say 58 - 35 percent.

American voters give Trump a negative 38 - 55 percent job approval rating, compared to a negative 38 - 57 percent in a January 29 Quinnipiac University National Poll:

Voters say 65-30 percent that Trump is not honest, his worst grade ever on that character trait. He gets negative grades on other traits:
39 - 58 percent that he has good leadership skills;
39 - 58 percent that he cares about average Americans;
22 - 71 percent that he is a good role model for children. <snip>

8. It's the same 22% that still approved of Cheney at the end of W's term.

You can get 22% of people to approve of almost anything.

2. Trouble? Sounds to me that if average American were on a jury, trump would walk.

And 59% saying Congress should not begin Impeachment, does not sound like trouble to me.

It's really sad so many support him.

3. I'll honestly be surprised if he's impeached.

We'll see. I'm not expecting it. I've been saying he won't get impeached since the day he took office, haven't been wrong and closing in on only a year and a half left until the 2020 election.

6. Agree. Mueller would have to come up with something we don't even suspect for GOPers to turn on DJT.

4. Of course, in a criminal trial, you need unanimity...

...I hope that's not what you're waiting for. Nixon resigned in disgrace with a 27% approval rating from Gallup.

5. GOPers told Nixon he'd be convicted by Senate if he didn't resign. Don't see that happening here.

I hope that in not what you are waiting for.

I will be surprised if he ultimately runs in 2020. He probably won't bow out until late 2019 or early 2020. But, he might just love the rallies, acting like a comedian to ignorant white wingers, etc., so much that he'll go down in flames.

7. They didn't do that until they heard the tapes...

… and public opinion dropped when the economy softened.

The Watergate scandal had public hearings that turned the tide. They're coming now.

people haven't heard what they need to hear to support impeachment. The very next line says:

But Congress should do more to investigate "Michael Cohen's claims about President Trump's unethical and illegal behavior," voters say 58 - 35 percent.

10. We'll be investigating until trump is gone by serving 8 years, dropping out, or losing

in 2020. We’ll be yelling Lock Him Up, with good reason, but he’ll be free, hopefully a ruined man and family.
