Let's hear it for "Progressive Capitalism!"

I don't know where I bumped into this phrase. It was in the last few days and could have been here in DU. (If I search DU for text it always times out.) We need to have a positive answer to "Socialism." I'm not opposed to/afraid of Democratic Socialism, but I think a lot of folks, especially older ones, are. Progressive Capitalism says it all. Or can. We can define it any way we want, right?

I LOVE IT!! Now let's get to work in forcing the media to use the term and the get the Democratic Congressmen and women to buy in also. Every TV and radio station that a Dem appears on ought to use this term.

9. It doesn't need to be standardized any more than "socialism" or "democratic socialism."

That's the beauty of it. It's just not anti-capitalism and not socialism but pro universal health care and fighting climate change and income equality. It has to be vague to fight the right's use of "socialism."

words to the effect of using the money we turn into taxes is used to insure a society where we don't have to worry about public education, public healthcare, a safe retirement while we the people support entrepreneurs and businesses that work for the betterment of society..

there will still be capitalists that would rob to be the head honchos of anything but regulation of vulture capitalism would be a goal.

The monopolist corporate friendly structure that now dominates our economy is not capitalism. Free markets are not supposed to provide preferential treatment by making it easiest for businesses to prevail by maximizing profits because is ethics are optional.
Regulations that serve to protect consumers and to some extent even the playing field to promote the fairness in competion is missing in the US brand of capitalism.
