Trump celebrates North Dakota football champs with fast food

President Donald Trump is again feting football champions with burgers and fries.

Trump is celebrating the Division 1-winning North Dakota State University football team at the White House with a lunch of Big Macs, french fries and Chick-fil-A sandwiches.

Trump served a similar spread that included hundreds of hamburgers to the college football champion Clemson Tigers in January, citing the government shutdown that was underway.

Trump says he could have offered the players chef-prepared food; but, "I know you people."

Cheeto and a cornucopia of cholesterol at today's White House reception for the winning North Dakota State University Bisons.

I wouldn't be in the same room with that asshole for any amount of money.
Let alone cold fast food burgers.

When we get all in a wad about stupid stuff like this, it detracts from the serious shit Trump does.

Old Man Bush, famously, thought he had the election wrapped up after luring Saddam into invading Kuwait.

But the recession dragged on, and then this happened:

11. Questions: What is the usual fare for visiting championship teams? What did President Obama serve?

I can't find it on the Internet. Every way to ask the question comes up with Trump and his hamburgers or Chick Filet.

The University had to buy the players food.

The program called for no food to be served, yet White House maitre d' George Hannie, resplendent in a tuxedo, stood in front of the State Dining Room. Hannie, 63, grew up in Northport, just across the Black Warrior River from Tuscaloosa, Ala. He came to work at the White House during the Johnson administration in July 1966. He never left.

By 2:30 p.m., the Alabama players and coaches had left the White House and headed east down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol. They went from there to the Lincoln Memorial, then to the Pentagon and then back to Reagan.

The day cost Alabama at least $85,000 -- including $79,000 for the Delta charter round-trip flight from Tuscaloosa to Reagan National Airport, $1,700 for four charter buses in Washington and $3,300 for box lunches (including a few extra sandwiches; this was, after all, a football team) delivered by Chick-fil-A to the team after the visit.

I don't think he does "know those people." I'll bet they'd have appreciated a chef-prepared meal, which they probably don't get very often, instead of fast food, which they can have any time.
