Gabriel Fernandes, Anthony Avalos and Damien Ventura failures by LADCS makes my heart hurt

I'm not going to link to any of the coverage, people can research it on their own if they desire. These there young boys were killed by the men their mothers were involved with. Despite obvious warning signs, reports from educators, family members, signs of physical abuse and the words of the children themselves they were left in the homes where they were being tortured to death. Some of the social workers are on trial for ignoring the abuse, some of the people involved have already been convicted but the fact that these cases are strikingly similar is frightening.

It really bothers me that the system is failing these kids, parents should not automatically be accused of abuse for every bump and scrape but when a child is burned with cigarettes and shot is the scrotum repeatedly with a pellet gun and remains in the home something is wrong and L.A. County needs to fix it now.

Children are so vulnerable to abuse from the child's mother's boyfriends. How a mother can stand by and do nothing is beyond me. Happens every day.

Should never happen.

Normally I think very highly of her but when she started talking about how overworked the social workers are I'm afraid I lit into her, I did apologize but overworked does not excuse ignoring abuse.
