How Did He Get Shot in the Back

If what police and the prosecutor said was/is true, that Stephon Clark was approaching the police before he was shot, how did he get shot in the back at least 7 times? Is the theory that he was shot once in the front of his body, twirled around, and was then was shot an additional 7 times in the back? Did the prosecutor attempt to explain the multiple shots to the back and why the majority of the shots seemed to enter Clark's body from his back?

...in a legal case, etc. I'm sure said prosecutor also will always get a free pass when driving while drunk.
