IF you believe Skyhorse Publishers.

Skyhorse is publishing BOTH Roger Stone's re-issue of his old book with his new intro, Myth of Collusion . . . (the book Judge Jackson just asked him to explain why she hadn't been told about it before.)

AND it's publishing, to be released March 26, something that looks official (but isn't) called "The Mueller Report" authored by the "Justice Department," and containing an introduction by Alan Dershowitz.

So Alan Dershowitz has already written an introduction to a report that hasn't been issued yet. What a sell-out.

Oh never mind. I'd rather read the menu for the Chinese restaurant down the street.

....without realizing it's bogus.

Book stores should shun it. (Except they will probably make a lot of money off it.)

3. The Washington Posts's Mueller Report publication is set

to release the same day.

Both are legitimate, from what I understand. One has an intro by Dershowitz, the other by WaPo press. The rest of the text is supposed to be the same.

Skyhorse also publishes Jullian Lennon, Malcom Nance, a whole host of children’s books, and books about the video game Fortnite.

5. How can either one be legitimate, when no one knows when Mueller will turn the report

over to William Barr, or how much Barr will turn over to the House? They are taking MONEY from people for a book that doesn't exist yet, and keeping that money for what might be months, or longer.

How can they charge $12.99 for a not-yet-available paperback they say will be 960 pages long and weigh over a pound?

6. It's up to the publisher to determine price. Seeing as the only author being paid

is Dershowitz, and that's just a foreword, it's safe to say that most of the costs associated with this book will be the pressing, so $12,99 is not unreasonable. For reference, the WaPo version is set for $15, just $2 more.

As for the date, it's a placeholder date. Stores and publishers do that. A LOT. Then they push the date back.
Something else important of note: Amazon and other sellers taking preorders for this are NOT charging up front. That $12.99 doesn't get charged until the book ships or is downloaded to your tablet. So if the report doesn't become public, the title is deleted and no one gets charged a dime.

It should be noted that these books are being sold DIRECTLY by Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Not from random resellers. It should also be noted that BOTH publishers (Scribner and Skyhorse) announced these titles yesterday.

8. You skipped over the most deceptive part. They are getting people to sign up for a "book"

that might end up being 10 pages long -- not 960. And it might weight a few ounces, not over a pound.

Something as short as that could fit in a few pages of a newspaper.

And since whatever is released will likely be months from now, most people who have ordered will have probably forgotten --till they get their 10 pages in the mail.

WaPo estimates their version at around 700 pages. We all know Mueller's report will be longer than 10 pages. You're getting up in arms over a STANDARD PRACTICE in the publishing world. Once an official release date is announced (via press release, not what Amazon's site says), then all official details will be known and updated.

You're trying to make Skyhorse out to be a deceptive company (they are not) while ignoring that WaPo is doing the EXACT SAME THING.

12. No, we don't all know that. According to the SC regulations, it will be up to William Barr

how he chooses to condense the report that is sent to him by Mueller. It's the Barr version that will go to Congress. If he doesn't simply pass along the original, complete version, the House will be battling for months or years to see the whole thing.

At which case, the book will be cancelled (or delayed until said report can be released).

Once again, you're suggesting something nefarious, when in actuality this is standard practice. Both books have press releases that specifically state that they will release the entirety of the report IF the report is made public. Both companies made estimates at number of pages and weight (which, by the way, is usually not what I base my book buying decisions on, YMMV), those estimates will change once more is known.

By allowing pre-orders, companies can see what kind of demand there is for said title, as well. And print accordingly when the time comes. If they cancel the title, no one gets charged a dime. If they suddenly release a pamphlet instead of a book, the public backlash would be horrible. No respectable publisher would do that (both of which Scribner and Skyhorse are).
You're looking for boogeymen where none exist.

They do this. Flood the information world with a bunch of stuff. Some a little bit true. Mostly just chaff.

So when the real report or story comes out, it'll seem like old news.
