Virginia General Assembly wraps up dismal session

ERA-failed. "Republicans overwhelmingly oppose equal rights, in the U.S. constitution, for women. #RememberInNovember"

GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION-"Republicans killed almost every bill that would have addressed gun violence in this state. Don’t forget that in November!"

VOTING RIGHTS-"Another disaster, thanks to Republicans, with almost everything that would have expanded voting rights killed."

LGBTQ EQUALITY- "With Republicans in charge, good luck with this!"

MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE: "Again, with Republicans in charge, forget about it!"

WOMEN’S REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH/FREEDOM-"Republicans killed almost everything that would have improved women’s reproductive health and freedom in Virginia."

CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM-"Republicans killed HB 2370 (introduced by Del. Charniele Herring; “Decriminalizes simple marijuana possession and provides a civil penalty of no more than $250”); HB 2373 (introduced by Del. Lee Carter; ” Eliminates criminal penalties for possession of marijuana for persons who are 21 years of age or older”)"

"On the energy/environment front, it was an absolute, basically unmitigated #FAIL, thanks to Republicans and a few Dominion Dems (e.g., Dick $a$law)"

I can only add it would have been much worse if Cory Stewart had defeated Northam, and no that is not a defense of Northam.

It really really starts to make one wonder if being republican is a mental disorder of some kind. RKP5637 Feb 2019 #1

Everything they want/do is punitive. They relish denying rights and in being injurious to people and the environment, often including themselves. Incredible.

We have had NOTHING substantive in Texas for Decades.

The news that our Gov. Abbott is the wealthiest Gov in the country from special interest
groups doesn’t bode well, either.

it's shit like that that drove California to go solid blue to where there are hardly any Repubs in the state gov't. Their only Repub reps are in really podunk areas and most of their "top two" elections lately have two Dems on the ballot.

The problem is the continued bloodletting of the Northam/Fairfax/Herring scandals unified the GOP. Throw in Northam inarticulate abortion response, and we have all the failures you list.
