(15,951 posts)Perhaps we should use those same tactics on men who show emotions. We've all seen it and some of us have experienced it first hand.

(9,350 posts)I do not think everything in that video is true. In sports it is not always the case that women are criticized for showing their emotions. More often than not woman are supported when they show emotion. Are most women called dramatic for showing emotions after winning or losing matches? Even if women are called dramatic for showing emotions after wins or loses so are men. I am pretty certain people can list a number of male athletes who have been called drama queens because of the way they behave after wins and losses. Brett Favre and Terrell Owens come to mind.
Are most girls who want to compete against men called nuts? Are most women who want to compete against men called nuts? Was Annika Sorenstam called nuts because she wanted to play golf against men? Was Michele Wie called nuts because she wanted to play golf against men? Yes, there was some backlash against both Sorenstam and Wie playing in male tournaments, but I think much of that had to do with issues other than them being foolish to want to play against men. With Wie part of the problem might have been that some people felt she should learn how to play golf on the women's tour before trying to compete against men. Was Danica Patrick called nuts because she wanted to race cars in NASCAR and Indy?
Who called Sue Bird unhinged for the way she acted in that game? I watched that game I think she got off easy. I think she should have been given a technical foul. It is possible that if a man had done what she did he would have been given a technical foul and ejected from the game.
The issue with Castor Semenya is the fact that she has a naturally higher level of testosterone than most women. The question is whether a women who has a higher level of testosterone should be allowed to compete with other women without having to limit her testosterone.
