Reminder: McCain wouldn't hire Manafort in 2008 because of his shady dealings with Russia.
I bring that up not to lionize McCain, but to point out that it's been common knowledge for a very long time. Trump knew exactly what he was getting when he hired Manafort to be his campaign manager.
For Trump, Manafort's relationship with Russia paralleled his own and was a feature, not a bug. And last night's court filing makes it very clear that there is way more to come.
