I just read Senator Feinstein's Green New Deal draft Resolution and I must say

that it is very similar to AOC's Resolution. It does not include as much emphasis on job creation and health care, etc. It is pretty much Green without so much New Deal. Anyway,

This would be a good chance for the House and the Senate to look at both resolutions (and any others) and maybe consolidate them or something......if that is possible. Is that sort of thing ever done? Well, I know Mitch won't go for this sort of thing. Even Senator Feinstein's proposal is too strong on solutions to Climate Change to ever shake any Republican votes loose, imo.

I am grateful to AOC and the Sunrise kids for pushing this sort of discussion. I am sorry that Senator Feinstein didn't handle it better. Her "you kids get off my lawn" demeanor is garnering a lot of bad press. We will see how hard she fights for her resolution and see if she adopts any of the bigger picture reforms of the House version.

The important thing is that change will come.....one way or another.

On that you are 100% correct. It’s the same old story with the cons, fight change and progress. However, they always lose.

I don't see that anyone will want to buck and upend the system. Until it's too late and by then why bother.

I said on the video thread, I see this as the fight between idealism and pragmatism.

We need both. New ideas and getting things done.

DiFi handled it just right. When idiot adults bring in children who have no idea how Congress works, then talks over a Senator who has been leading the charge on climate change for over 30 years, maybe it is time to tell them to take a hike.

The adults should have been more prepared. They could have said why the green new deal was better than the other bill.

But they were not aware of the other bill. They could have taught the kids how Congress works. It could have been a civics lesson also.

I think DiFi could have been a bit softer.

children into thinking that only their provocateurs know best, then that’s just dishonest. Using children to gin up fake controversies just to fulfill some adult purity fantasies is dishonest. Justice Democrats got caught lying to children. That’s a pretty bad day.

Edit: I saw your posts last night (no longer there), and your comments about Feinstein age etc show what this is really about.
