The only thing that stopped them from indicting Trump is because he is president. Cohen is now talking to SDNY. It is possible SDNY could nail Trump and his family ( Trump org.) on tax fraud, bank fraud, insurance fraud, etc.
The moment Trump leaves office he loses his get out of jail free card. SDNY will be waiting for him.
It will be very interesting to see how SDNY handles this. Will they indict the Trump Org. while Trump is still in office? Will they indict and then postpone the trial until Trump leaves office? Will that wait until Trump leaves office before they bring any indictments?
I think it's fair to say they are going to find evidence of Trump and his family committing serious crimes. Cohen ups those chances.
Hopefully, the Mueller report will be so severe the impeachment process will begin. The sooner we get Trump out of office the sooner he will go on trial.

(3,836 posts)trump will have to be convicted by the Senate and then can be removed.
But to agree with you, Articles of Impeachment must happen, the sooner the better - it would be a precedent setter and is, IMHO, wholly imperative

(32,017 posts)None. If there were they would have named Trump as an "unindicted co-conspirator". The investigation is ongoing but it won't go on forever. Prosecutors will need to show the evidence and they can't wait until Trump is out of office.

They have jurisdiction over the presidents political operation and businesses subjects that arent protected by executive privilege, a tool Trump is considering invoking to block portions of Muellers report. From a PR perspective, Trump has been unable to run the same playbook on SDNY that hes used to erode conservatives faith in Mueller, the former George W. Bush-appointed FBI director. Legal circles are also buzzing over whether SDNY might buck DOJ guidance and seek to indict a sitting president."

My prayers would be answered. Get that fucking traitor trump under indictment and he'll take care of the rest himself, that stupid fuck. Just let him keep talking.
