Beto O’Rourke “is coming to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus Friday for a meet and greet with students and faculty, a closely guarded event that will be the former Texas congressman’s first visit to a key state in the battleground, industrial Midwest,” the AP reports.

I work at the University, and this is the first I've heard about it.

There's a large WIAA (high school) basketball tournament here over the weekend, so it's already a pretty busy place.

2. Parking and Madison

I'll speculate on parking for our non-Madison guests.

1. The event location in the link above is not specified. That said, the eastern part of the campus is the most likely location. Likely Locations include
1a.The Kohl Center https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohl_Center
1b. Memorial Union https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_Union_(Wisconsin)
1c. the Alliant Energy Center https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliant_Energy_Center

EDIT: I forgot about WIAA basketball. I The Alliant Energy Center may be an option.

2. The major parking areas are the Park Street-Frances Street area. There are 2 separate ramps: one on the north side and one on the south side. There are others but add 6-10 blocks longer walk.

3. Madison parking is a daily challenge anywhere near the university. With our recent snow emergency, illegal parking makes for more business for towing companies. Expect to walk a few blocks and dress warm.

4. if Beto is coming, ,,, well, lets just say it would be fun to see, if I could get there.
