"That's a national emergency. Why don't you declare that emergency, Mr. President? I wish you would."

(26,045 posts)Face it if Trump gets away with this, the next time we get a Democratic president and enough seats in either chamber of congress to sustain a veto, itll be open season and any sensible Republican would recognize it.

(13,918 posts)Just seeing what the collateral damage would be if we did call a national gun emergency and the industry went belly up.. That would be my dream but it would not happen.. Maybe back to the 1950's industry size??? I want a Daisy BB gun for christmas Papa..

It would be unlike to happen unless Democrats could get 60 votes in the Senate and how likely would that be under normal circumstances?
