McCabe says he ordered the obstruction of justice probe of President Trump

The former FBI acting director tells 60 Minutes about the measures taken to ensure investigations into President Trump wouldn’t "vanish."

"I was very concerned that I was able to put the Russia case on absolutely solid ground, in an indelible fashion," McCabe tells Pelley in the interview. "That were I removed quickly, or reassigned or fired, that the case could not be closed or vanish in the night without a trace."

"I wanted to make sure that our case was on solid ground and if somebody came in behind me and closed it and tried to walk away from it, they would not be able to do that without creating a record of why they made that decision," McCabe said.

By the criminal he was investigating.

Had he not taken action as he did, there would be no Mueller investigation.

He has an important story that is tightly bound within what may be considered the most extensive criminal offensive to ever take place on American soil.

I'd say that gives him the right to monetize his story without cynical accusations of self serving behavior.

He wasn't serving his own interests in ordering an investigation on a sitting president, he was serving his country in the most crucial manner.

Trump is determined to take any action necessary to destroy this investigation. I am amazed how effective the Republicans propaganda is that people would fail to see that Trump and his gang of cutthroats are determined to strangle justice and not be held accountable. In my estimation it was a serious failure to not have held the lawless Bush administration for taking our nation to war on absolute lies. When they could not get the intelligence agencies to substantiate their lies, they formed their own phony intelligence agency to fabricate lies to justify their determination to seize the oil fields in the Middle East. This administration is attempting to resurrect their master plan by cancelling the Iran nuclear agreement and imposing additional sanctions an attempt to provide an excuse for invading Iran. It was no accident that one of the major PNAC neo-cons, Bolton was welcomed into this administration.

He DID have his pension stolen from him. At almost literally the last minute. trump waited til - what? The DAY BEFORE McCabe was supposed to retire with full benefits to fire him. What a petty, vindictive, mean-spirited, piss-ant thing to do.

It IS reasonable, though, to apply skepticism here, regarding ANYONE with the black smear of THIS White House on his or her ledger. But there are those who in one way or other somehow kept their honor. Escapees, mostly. This guy might be one.

Btw, I learned back during Watergate "don't buy books by crooks." So I won't be spending money on many of the books that'll undoubtedly come out of this administration. It'll depend on the author. I don't believe in reinforcing or rewarding bad behavior, anyway. Being a mom taught me that.

McCabe was not a Trump appointment, he was present with the FBI during the run-up to the election.

So, he never was one of Trump's key operatives, and Trump knew from very early that he constituted a threat.

McCabe was one of the officials informed by Comey that there was a serious problem with Trump trying to obstruct the FBI's investigation into Flynn and others in campaign. At the time of Comey firing there was no Mueller Special Counsel and several FBI officials including McCabe were so concerned that they influenced Rosenstein to appoint Mueller as SC.

That McCabe is speaking out. Jeff Sessions was such a poor excuse of a man, firing McCabe 48 hours before he received his pension.

But Karma is great. Sessions had his head handed to him by the bully he protected. I am also glad McCabe is suing.

I hope he makes a lot of money off it. Taking this man's pension was a disgraceful act of partisan retaliation and is an outrage to all fair minded people.

Just another way Trump has demonstrated how truly evil his heart is.

Contrary to the excuse Donnie Moscow gave about his wife running for state office and donated to HRC's campaign, the real reason tRUmp fired him was to obstruct justice even further. In other words, it was to exact revenge against law enforcement.

I saw this coming 2 years ago.

McCabe was fired from FBI for investigating Trump obstruction of justice . So Trump thinks saying "you're fired", tantamount to obstruction of justice, fixes everything is evidence that he views the world through the reality TV actor's prism. And Trump's supporters drool in approval.
