I am unconvinced he is a plus for Trump. In fact, I see it as not impossible that he topples the whole house of cards.

Which means the President gets to do whatever he wants with DOJ and FBI. Including firing Mueller and every other senior DOJ official.
He wrote a long badly argued memo saying Mueller was bad.
He was involved in the Iran-Contra pardons.

We could go on. Bill Barr is part of GOP power-before-country. He will be a bad AG.
And the GOP senate doesn’t care about the country: they’re approving him to protect the president. Party before country.
